Mitchell's 15 year old friend Angela died in a fatal vehicle crash. Mitchell found this incredibly difficult and Angela was the inspiration for her song Angel that is featured on Mitchell's debut album. The song was featured on the 7th Heaven Episode Nothing Endures But Change and in Chicken Soup for Preteen Soul she also talked about her experience.
